Lunchtime Talk @ UB

"Life After Graduation”

On December 1, 1999, Paul McGarvey, Connie LaPort and Dave Copeland presented a lunchtime talk to 35 environmental engineering/scientist students on life after graduation. With the three speakers all being UB alumni and representing different segments of our profession (consulting, agency, and industrial) many issues were covered from job hunting, job expectations, daily work loads, project management and so much more. Pizza and pop was provided by the AWMA- NFS. The response from the both the students and facility was very positive, with many students staying for more than several hours after the official one hour time slot with many follow-up questions. The success of this outreach activity is very encouraging and there was even a very positive article in the school newspaper, The Spectrum about this event.
