NOTICE:

Eligibility:
The following individuals are eligible for an Air & Waste Management
Association - Niagara Frontier Section (A&WMA-NFS) college scholarship:

Any full-time
student attending a recognized college or university located within
the New York State counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua,
Erie, Niagara, and Wyoming during the 2009-2010 academic year.

A child or spouse
of a current A&WMA-NFS member who is a full-time student at a
recognized college or university, regardless of location, during the
2009-2010 academic year
Awards:
The number and amount of the scholarship(s) will be approved by the A&WMA-NFS
Board of Directors. It is anticipated that one or more scholarships
will be awarded in amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000. Each
scholarship is awarded for the 2010-2011 academic year only and is not
renewable.
Selection:
The A&WMA-NFS
Education Committee will review all timely completed scholarship
applications. Awards will be made on the basis of environmental
interests, academic record, school and community leadership, and future
academic/career potential. Applications will be considered without
consideration of sex, race, national origin, financial need, age or
physical disability. The ultimate decision on awards will be made at
the discretion of the A&WMA-NFS Board of Directors based on
recommendations from the A&WMA-NFS Education Committee. The decisions
of the A&WMA-NFS Board of Directors and A&WMA-NFS Education Committee on
scholarship awards are final. Scholarship awards will be announced on
or before May 1, 2010.
Only complete
applications, including college transcript(s), submitted no later than
Monday, March 15, 2010 will be considered.
